- 1 fl oz fresh lemon juice
- ½ fl oz plain syrup or maple syrup
- 1 fl oz Il Vescovo or Il Vescovo Black Label

INTRODUCTION
What a drink! First you have the whiskey sour layer – sweetened with syrup. Then you float a layer of red wine over the top and it adds intrigue, complexity and a fruity acidity. Not to mention it lookssimply stunning with the bright two-toned layer. Even better: it’s easy to make! Here’s how it’s done – you must try it!
METHOD
1
Preparing the cocktail:
- Combine the rye or bourbon whiskey, fresh lemon juice and syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Cover, and shake until outside of shaker is frosty, about 30 seconds.
- Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice.

The Fun part
- Gently pour 1 fl oz Terre Di San Vito’s Il Vescovo Black Label or Il Vescovo over the back of a spoon held just above the drink's surface so the wine floats on top.
- Because it hits the spoon first, it will settle into a layer on the top!
