The coast of Polignano is one of the most beautiful in Puglia. 30 minutes from Bari, it has a jagged coastline with very steep slopes. It is a town on Italy’s southern Adriatic coast. It’s known for beaches like the white-pebble Lama Monachile beach, also known as Cala Porto, which is bordered by a Roman bridge. It is a breath taking sight. Walking past the Borbonic bridge, you can find the statue of Domenico Modugno – famous for the song: Volare! He was born in Polignano –sing along as you pass by. Then there is the Ponte dei Lapilli - a cove nestled at the bottom of a cliff. Overlooking the sea, San Vito Abbey has a Romanesque church and a 16th-century tower. Its historic city center reflects the Arab, Byzantine, Spanish and Norman cultures. Don’t forget the Matrice Church from the 13th century and the "Pino Pascali" Museum.
