Ostuni
The White City Settled in the province of Brindisi, Ostuni is also called the White City because of the low houses and narrow streets characterized by limestone rocks. The Ostuni Cathedral combines Gothic, Romanesque and Byzantine elements, while the arched Porta San Demetrio is one of 2 remaining medieval gates. Ostuni and its countryside house several Masserias, ancient farmhouses typical in Southern Italy that have been restored and turned into wonderful restaurants and unusual accommodation. Visit the Masseria Brancati where you can learn a lot about organic olive oil trees while walking around the large courtyard and having loads of fun. Ostuni is a city for explorers, and a place to be devoured slowly over a couple of days. It's a city for historians and for those that simply like to stroll amongst beauty and spontaneous Italian moments.
